It's Time To Guess: My Election-Related Predictions

Every pundit must prophesize. Here are my sure-to-be-wrong predictions for the midterm elections:

Democrats lose 60 seats in the House; welcome for Speaker Spray Tan, John Boehner himself!

Democrats lose 8 seats in the Senate; welcome for new majority leader Chuck Schumer; the perquisites of the office plus his own natural aptitude put him now on TV eight days a week!

No procedural reform in the Senate, combined with no fewer than 3 tempest-in-at-teapot resignations as a consequence of Republican “investigations.” Expect for there to still be thirty or forty high-level, unconfirmed officials at the end of 2011.

The economy will grow in the 2.5-3.0% range in 2010 and in a similar range in 2011. Unemployment will decline slightly, though possibly just because workers are discouraged.

These are my guesses and I’m sticking to them.
